New semester has just begun. I definitely does not have any holiday for the previous semester. I took Xilinx IC Design course during that semester break but it was such an exciting experience to learn about IC design. 8 books to cover during the 2 weeks of training course with a great trainer, great classmates from different majoring, everything was going just fine. This course was being held in International Islamic University Malaysia, from 20 November 2009 until 5 December 2009, under 3P (Program Pentauliahan Profesional) , Industry-Based Certification Programme by Prestariang Systems Sdn Bhd.

Alhamdulillah, I managed to pass on this course. My previous semester result was not that bad either. Now, lots of things to be organized. Primarily, implementation of my Final Year Project, Automated Postal System. I hope that my FYP can be completed during this semester period. Yosh!

Well, I just get back from a seminar by Encik Zullkifli Harun from Zull Design Autotronics. He is a great speaker. There are about 30 to 40 of us listening to his speech.

I always thought that it is hard to survive in engineering world, but he opened up my mind that engineering control the world. What else, he said knowledge is important. money could not buy knowledge but by our knowledge we could make money. Knowledge is not always about the certificate that you’ve got, knowledge is something that you learn because you like it, you want it, you use it and you see the power in it.

This world has many problem, all sort of problem. You could not run from it. Social problem, politics, health, industry, environment, and so on. Deal with every problem around you. Study all the things around. Turn it into opportunity to change your life.

What you have, you must share with others. Help everyone in need. Help your country. It is your responsibility to your society and country. If not, we are the last generation to survive in this beloved country.

Be good to your friends. Someday, you might need them. Because one day, one of your friends may be someone great, tauke, big boss, chief minister, chief executive and so on. They are the one who would help you instead of other strangers.

Time is not for us to waste. But that does not mean we could not enjoy our life. We must be productive, use the time efficiently.

In our life, we must always think. All the why and how. Be creative. Don’t kill your curiosity.

It was a nice seminar after all. If only I could share this feeling to others as well.

My life was a little upside down today. Huh, I got quiz for my MCS subject and did not revised it before attending the class and….TROUBLE! I didn’t know there was quiz today or rather I just don’t want to know.. Hmm, last time, I didn’t come for 2 quizzes for this subject. *sob sob* Lets forget about it anyway..NOT!!! I couldn’t by the way..

Ya! I’ve got dreams. That’s why I feel (sikit sikit) down. Haiya… Final year already ma! Let me show you some of my dreams.

Okay, the green one is the route that I have reach until now and I’m looking forward for the red line. RED line… It’s like go or no-go. Hoping that I manage to get there soon.. =) I hardly plan for my future because I like to go where the current flow.

But I (strongly) believe that planning is good. Set your goal, then you can focus more. When you focus more, you’ll find ways and alternatives to reach it. Not only that, strength will come to you. With your strength, you gain more courage. You succeed or not succeed, only God knows. But somehow, you’ve got to believe….

On the 18th August 2009, I attended one interfaith dialogue session on “Purpose of Life” that were organized by Intellectual Youth Club (IYC) and Malaysian Unity Secretariat (MISI) (link). It was a great session after all because there were representative from 4 different religions to talk about the purpose of life. Basically, it was not a debate or arguing session. The session was more on sharing knowledge about different religions on the purpose of life regarding to their respective religions.

Representative from Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, and Hindu(did not come) were given about 20-30minutes each to talk about what their religion said about the purpose of life. This was a very great way to share and to know about different kind of religions and being discussed in a very intellectual ways without any emotional or prejudice.

This is some of the contents in the handout that was being distributed that night.

I had been discussed with my partner, Tun about our final conceptual design of Automated Postal System. To make it simple, we had divided it into 3 segments.

1. Loading and sorting system design.
2. Recognition of mail system design.
3. Distribution and storage system design.

Basically, this is the final conceptual design after some conceptual generations and selections. Well, after this stage, we shall move to embodiment design, moving to more specific and details of this project. Oh God, enlighten me.

Hoping that my session with my supervisor goes pretty well

I may not be very good in my study. But I don’t want to ignore my curiosity and my passions in every subjects that I take. Even it is just for a small little thing, as tiny as the sand, I want to know more and more about the ocean.

This is actually brief idea of the layout. We haven’t decided in details the components and circuit but I think the picture probably tells so much things on what’s going to happen to our MSD’s project.

Right now, I need to come out with the specification of the product, configuration…..and design! Gosh! More and more calculation to do…

What do this project is all about:

• A classroom. A smart classroom!
• Automated lights and fans. It will switch on/off depends if the room is occupied or not.
• Dimmed/off the front light when the projector is on.
• +/- : A counter to count the person in the room (in/out).
• +/- : Maybe will consider to add some other features.

Sepanjang berada di dalam kursus ini, pertama kali aku mengikuti Mechatronics Student Association (MCTSA) untuk BBQ. Selama ini, bukan untuk meghindari tetapi aku lebih suka berBBQ dalam kelompok yang kecil atas sebab ayam yang dipanggang itu lebih sedap dipanggang dalam kuantiti yang sedikit….adakah rasional di situ?…aku tak tahu…

Majlis yang bermula pada 8.30pm dimeriahkan lagi dengan sesi karaoke oleh pelajar lelaki. Tetapi apa yang lebih penting adalah persiapan untuk BBQ ini yang bermula seawal pagi Jumaat dengan membersihkan ayam bersama-sama oleh pelajar MCT. Aku hanya datang untuk menolong pada petangnya di Colleseum E3, menyediakan air dan menghidupkan bara arang seterusnya terus memanggang. Malam 14 Ogos 2009 ini, seharusnya diteruskan di masa akan datang dalam mengikat tali persaudaraan antara pelajar MCT antara tahun, tidak kira lelaki dan perempuan dan termasuk juga pelajar yang berasal dari luar negara.

That is what most of final year student think about… Final Year Project!!! Gerun nya! Go or No-Go is not a question. I’ve got to do it somehow. By the way, I’m very busy this semester with lots and lots of things to do. Modern Control System’s project, Mechatronics System Design’s project, Intelligent System’s project, English term paper, BBQ, outing, MISI, MCTSA, chatting, movies, and dot dot dot… lol~

Well, I just like to write something on my FYP so that I will gain enough strength to work on this project. My FYP is about Automated Postal System. Hmm… I’m still working on how the system should work. Basically, I was hoping to make something like in this video………which is impossible~ Haha~

My partner, Tun and I will only develop simple system to take the mail, recognize where it should be send, and put it in the right box/storage. Hmm….possible or not for my FYP? Argh..doesn’t really matter at all. What is really matter now is work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work work and more work.
